OpenlinkIQ^®

The OpenlinkIQ^® initiative offers a truly open, interoperable, long range and free-to-use radio communication technology, that can be exploited to numerous applications. The work is founded on a long experience in development of remote readable meters and sensors.

OpenlinkIQ^® describes how to wrap a well-established standard (M-Bus) data format into a state of the art LPWAN technology. The OpenlinkIQ^® initiative makes this technology available for everyone.

SPECIFICATION UPDATE

The OpenlinkIQ^® specification and associated implementation guide has been revised in revision D.

• EN 13757-8 (M-Bus Adaptation Layer) has been released, and references have been updated accordingly.
• Clarification of the number notation (octal) used in the transfer function for the constituent encoders.

The OpenlinkIQ^® specification and guides is a collection of:

• A specified protocol for standard application formatted (M-Bus) data to be exchanged between meters/sensors and data collectors
• A way-forward for the collected data to be captured and forwarded to a standard IoT data server

The IoT Connectivity Guide provides inspiration to OpenlinkIQ^® designers on how a data collector can connect and deliver data to a cloud based data server.

The IoT Connectivity is exemplified using a software implementation on a Kamstrup OpenlinkIQ^® Research Concentrator which is connecting to, and delivering data to a standard IoT cloud service.

The only thing that is not part of the OpenlinkIQ^® initiative is the design and implementation of the sensor application and the presentation interface.
